Charging on The Sisters' Room (2015) Watch onlinethe go just got a lot easier.
Mophie just introduced a new battery that's powerful enough to charge a MacBook, marking the first time the company's made a battery that can provide on-the-go power for a laptop.
SEE ALSO: Researchers create a 'battery-free' mobile phoneThe Powerstation USB-C XXL delivers enough juice to give you a full extra charge for a MacBook or MacBook Pro. Better still, the battery is slim and light enough that you won't mind carrying it around.
That's because Mophie managed to cram 19,500 mAh of power — enough to provide more than 12 hours of juice — into a battery pack that's not a whole lot bigger than Mophie's smartphone battery packs.
As the name implies, the Powerstation USB-C XXL uses a USB-C connector, so it's only compatible with MacBooks from 2015 and later, and MacBook Pros from 2016 and later. It supports rapid charging via the USB-C port and is also equipped with a USB-A port, so it can double as a phone charger as well.
Mophie says the company worked closely with Apple to design the battery, which has a fabric exterior along with the indicator lights and power switch that comes with newer Mophie battery packs.
I've had the chance to try it out over the last couple weeks, and I can attest that the battery is so much more convenient than lugging my bulky charger around everywhere.
All that power and convenience doesn't come cheap, though — the battery, which will only be available via Apple Stores and Mophie's website, will cost $149.95.
It could be well worth the cost to free you from searching for an outlet every time you need to charge.
