A few years ago985 Archives the idea of Ryan Reynolds spending the day on an open-top bus in the Welsh city of Wrexham would've been the stuff of very niche fan fiction.
On Tuesday, though, as Wrexham AFC celebrated the promotion of both their men's and women's teams after winning their respective leagues, it was very much the reality.

Hollywood stars Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, who bought Wrexham AFC back in 2020, joined the teams on an open top bus tour of the city, through streets lined with screaming fans.
"The first Tuesday in May," wrote Reynolds in an Instagram post. "What an unforgettable evening in Wrexham celebrating both @wrexham_afc and @wrexhamafcwomen gaining promotion and winning their leagues. BONKERS."

The images show the street outside Wrexham's The Racecourse stadium absolutely packed with people, as well as footage of screaming fans and a random man sitting on his friend's shoulders to hand Reynolds a beer on the top of the bus.
That final episode of Welcome to WrexhamSeason 2, the documentary that follows Reynolds and McElhenney's takeover of the club, is pretty much writing itself.
