We knew it was coming,Girlfriend Who is Crazy About Big Things but it's still annoying for many users: Apple is now shipping iPhones without a power adapter or EarPods.
It may be good for the environment, but it still means that, if you don't have an old power adapter, you'll have to spend extra money when you buy a new iPhone.
You also don't get any headphones in the box. Again, it's great if you have old earbuds or headphones, but if you don't, you'll have to whip out your credit card.
There's some good news here, though, that may have been lost in the shuffle: Apple has reduced the price of its 20W power adapter for the iPhone from $29 to $19.
The company also reduced the price of EarPods with Lightning connector from $29 to $19.
Note that Apple's policy doesn't only pertain to the iPhone 12. Apple will start shipping all the iPhones that are currently in its lineup without wired earbuds or a power adapter, including the iPhone 11, SE, and XR.
This means that if you buy a new iPhone, you'll have to dish out $38 extra to get the same value as you would before. Not great, but better than $58.
