2017 is carol oockman eroticized bodiesthe year irony didn't just die, it went to hell.
On Wednesday, the Safe Climate Campaign reported that a water fountain in the EPA headquarters had begun to leak black sewage. Photos of the all-too-metaphorical spill immediately went viral.

"Sewage flowing from a water fountain in front of a Trump appointee's office really reeks of irony."

Plumbing problems at the EPA headquarters aren't exactly novel. Though we were unable to obtain a sample of the black dreck for testing, Dan Becker, president of the Safe Climate Campaign, told E&E News that "a sewer problem at HQ headquarters has resulted in poop exploding out of water fountains."
Real or not real, this is all too... real. Scott Pruitt joyfully gutted the EPA in 2017, making drastic cuts to their budget and defunding critical science research.
And the nomination for the best tragic metaphor of 2017 goes to ... this shit-spewing fountain.
Congrats!
