While the Golden Globes red carpet was peppered with folks wearing Time's Up pins and Watch Powerdonning black gowns in protest against sexual harassment and abuse, one Hollywood star penned her own quietly powerful message.
Sleeplessstar Gabrielle Union posted a message of solidarity for survivors of sexual assault and the #MeToo and Time's Up movements on Instagram, marking 25 years since her own assault.

Union told The Viewin 2014 that she was raped at gunpoint when she was 19 years old, an experience she detailed in her 2017 memoir and first book We're Going to Need More Wine.
She went further in her Instagram post to highlight the need for "true equality."
"Together we can dismantle white supremacy and racism. Together we can center the voices of the most marginalized among us. Together we can acknowledge the jig is up and its BEEN time for monumental sweeping change."
Union wasn't the only actress wearing black at home and posting messages of support for the Time's Up movement during the Globes, with the likes of Alyssa Milano, Amy Schumer, Kristen Bell and Simone Missick posting on Instagram:
