It's new iPhone season once again015 Archives but as always, Apple's latest offerings can get pretty expensive.
If you want the iPhone 11 Pro, you're going to pay at least $999. The iPhone 11 Pro Max starts at $1,099. And while the iPhone 11 is a relative bargain at $699, that is still a big chunk of change.
The good news? Service providers such as Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile usually offer some incentives to get people to buy new phones. These can range from discounts with trade-ins to bonuses with the purchase of a new phone.
As always, we're here to help you sort through the deals and figure out which ones are right for you.
First up, Verizon has a pretty decent deal on a new iPhone 11, but it's best for people who aren't actually Verizon customers yet.
If you're unsatisfied with your current carrier and want to erase a huge chunk of the iPhone 11's price, you can switch to Verizon and trade in an older phone for up to $700 towards the new iPhone. The key to unlocking this discount is to open a Verizon unlimited line and put the new phone on a device payment plan.
Once you do that, you'll get a $200 prepaid card and up to $500 in trade-in credit. If you manage to get the full value of the trade-in, you can basically get a new iPhone 11 from Verizon for free.
It won't make the more expensive iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max phones free, but the same discount does apply to them if you meet the conditions.
SEE ALSO: This is why the iPhone 11 doesn't have 5GAT&T has an iPhone 11 promo, but it's limited in both time and scope. Basically, you can get an iPhone 11 for free or at least heavily discounted with the purchase of another eligible iPhone through AT&T.
You can find the specifics on AT&T's iPhone 11 preorder page, but we've included a screenshot of the nitty-gritty details below for your convenience.
According to that, you need to get the phones, add a new line to an account, pay taxes on the phones, have an AT&T unlimited plan, and pay activation fees. This might be helpful for families or anyone else with multiple people on the same plan, but it might not be the most enticing iPhone 11 carrier deal out there.
It's worth noting that AT&T's deal can get you an iPhone 11 for free if you meet the requirements, but the Pro and Pro Max phones are only "up to $700 off."
T-Mobile came out swinging with its iPhone 11 deal. The carrier is giving all customers, regardless of their prior relationship to T-Mobile, up to half-off a new iPhone when they trade in select older iPhones.
That means you can get the discount even if you currently have a plan with T-Mobile. The big caveat here there are three different tiers of discounts based on which previous iPhone you trade in.
Per CNET, you can get $350 off (or half off a base iPhone 11) by trading in anything from the iPhone 7 or 8 lines, an iPhone X, or an iPhone XR. Trade in an iPhone XS and you'll save $500, which equals half an iPhone 11 Pro. Finally, trading in an iPhone XS Max gets you $550 off, which is half an iPhone 11 Pro Max.
As long as you're fine with using T-Mobile as a carrier, this might be a decent way to go if you absolutely need an iPhone 11 at launch.
Sprint hasn't merged with T-Mobile yet, so the two carriers have separate offers for iPhone 11s at launch. You can find details on Sprint's website, but long story short, you can get a significantly discounted iPhone 11 through Sprint if you meet some requirements.
If you go through Sprint's Flex Lease program (in which Sprint owns the phone and you lease it), you can get an iPhone 11 for as little as $0 per month or an iPhone 11 Pro for $12.50 a month if you trade in an iPhone 8 or above.
However, you need to add a line and wait two whole billing cycles before the discount kicks in.
Here's a chart from Sprint's website to show what kind of trade-in discounts you can get through this promo.
It's not quite as crazy as T-Mobile's deal, but if you're on Sprint and have a device to trade in, this might be worth a look.
Visible, an offshoot of Verizon, has an iPhone 11 deal that might not be as eye-popping as some others, but is still a decent deal.
Simply put, if you buy an iPhone 11 through Visible and pay for two months of service, you'll get a $200 prepaid Mastercard to use however you want. There's not much else to it. Get the phone and use Visible for two months and you can get a cool $200 to do whatever you want with.
Comcast's wireless carrier Xfinity also joined the fray with an iPhone 11 discount of its own. If you go to Xfinity's website, you'll see an offer for $250 off any new iPhone. Of course, as with most of these deals, there are caveats.
Xfinity will give you a $250 prepaid card with the purchase of an iPhone 11 as long as you transfer your number to Xfinity and activate a new line. Your account needs to stay in "good standing" for 90 days afterward, too, in order to take advantage of the offer. You can do this through Oct. 27.
All in all, $250 off a new iPhone with a carrier switch isn't the most mind-blowing of these deals, but it's better than nothing.
