Apple made the MacBook Pro's new Touch Bar the star of Thursday's event. The black cock videoscompany devoted much of the 82-minute keynote showing it off and demoing how it can be used with an array of third-party apps.
But while emoji and photo filters and Dj apps all looked neat, there's one aspect of the Touch Bar that Apple conveniently glossed over: it looks extremely uncomfortable.
Now, Mashable'sChief Correspondent Lance Ulanoff, who was covering the event from Cupertino, reports that his first impression of the Touch Bar itself was that it was "very responsive" and felt smooth. But still, it seems more likely than not that many users will not be able to comfortably use the feature.
Because the Touch Bar requires you to look down at keyboard, it's hard to imagine it not leading to some sore hands and stiff necks. Even some of Apple's presenters looked a bit awkward demoing the feature.
In short: it looks like an ergonomic nightmare.

For starters, if you use multiple displays or an external keyboard (as many creative professionals do), the Touch Bar is impractical. And for many, using an extra keyboard or display is a matter of health and comfort, not just preference.

Even if you don't use an external keyboard or monitor, it's not necessarily easy to see and doesn't look like it would be comfortable after prolonged use.

Of course, what's comfortable is pretty subjective as everyone has their own preferences for what kind of setup works for them. And there are many developers and users who are excited about the new Touch Bar and the possibilities it opens up.
We'll have to wait for our full review to really put the Touch Bar through its paces but for now, it looks like a lot of hand and neck cramps waiting to happen.
