Meanwhile, the storm has caused severe travel delays with hundreds of flights cancelled out of Amsterdam.

Disturbing videos of the powerful storm, tagged #CodeRood (Dutch for code red), show winds tearing roofs off of buildings and blowing cyclists into streets.
