Per the BBC, three people in Netherlands and one person in Germany have died in the storm. Al Jazeera reports others have been injured, including three people who were hurt by falling ceiling panels at Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam.
The storm is sweeping across Northern Europe, which tends to experience powerful winter storms at this time of year. The strong winds are expected to sweep across Germany, as well, among other parts of the region.
Meanwhile, the storm has caused severe travel delays with hundreds of flights cancelled out of Amsterdam.
