The ride-hailing company's scheduled rides feature is launching in New York City on Thursday. The feature will be available throughout the city for uberX, UberXL, UberBlack, Uber SUVs and VIP.
Uber's scheduled rides are already available in 129 other US cities and 200 total cities worldwide. The feature debuted to business travelers in Seattle on June 9.
Users can request Uber rides between 15 minutes and 30 days ahead of time. Uber customers set their pickup information in advance and receive reminders the day of. Surge pricing can still apply.
Uber says the feature is most popular for activities like going to the airport, but it's also used for medical appointments, interviews, commuting or dinner.
Scheduled rides are most popular in early mornings, with another spike around 6 p.m., Uber says.
Uber will continue to roll out its scheduled rides, and the company plans to expand from 11 countries now to 40 countries by the end of September.
