With Amazon's Echo Auto reaching a record-low price ahead of Prime Day, now's the perfect time to make a budget-friendly upgrade to your ride. Who says going hands-free has to be expensive?

At $34.99, the Echo Auto is at its lowest price on record, though not for the first time. In the past six months, we've seen this price pop up twice. And while the Echo Auto's regular price is $54.99, it frequently dips down to about $45. So, if you sleep on this deal, there's a good chance it will come around again. (Though we'd recommend taking advantage of it now.)

Echo Auto is a minimalist accessory that lets you use voice-activated Alexa in your car. By connecting your Echo Auto to your phone via Bluetooth, you can send texts, make calls, pick music, and set navigation, all through the use of simple voice commands. While many cars nowadays have similar technologies built-in, the Echo Auto is an affordable way to make older-model vehicles "smarter" without much heavy lifting.

If you're a smart-home junkie, then you might also be drawn to the Echo Auto for its wider control functions. While you're out on the road, you can ask Alexa to set the thermostat, turn off the lights, and check to see if your door is locked back at home.
