You'd be pussy licking movies and videoshard-pressed to pick it out on a map, but dusty outback town of Carinda in Australia has a very special place in David Bowie's career.
After all, it is the town where much of the music video for Bowie's memorable "Let's Dance" was shot. The 1983 tune featured a sweaty, sun-kissed Bowie passing time in a rural pub, a progression from the glam rock look that came to define his early career.

More than 30 years later, the town is celebrating the late musician's life and career, named after the song that made it famous.
Let's Dance Carinda is taking place on Oct. 8 and 9 in the town, where participants will paint their old shoes red as a local band and performer Lady Stardust covers Bowie hits on Saturday. Then there's a full re-enactment of the music video on Sunday.
The festival also aims to bring back some energy to the town, which has been hit hard by droughts and a dwindling population in the past few years.
"What I saw was the place needed a bit of fun -- let's dance -- let's have a bit of fun," the event's organiser 'Mo' Reagan told Radio National.
It's worth a visit for the ultimate Bowie fan. The tile wall the singer stands in front of is still intact. For some time it was covered with wood panelling, but now has been cleaned by the pub's new owner.
"We call it the David Bowie wall," Reagan told the radio station. Since the singer's death there has been an increase in visitors making the pilgrimage to the town, bearing photos and flowers for the much loved star.
Time to put on your red shoes and dance the blues.
